Clone Work Order
Cloning work orders allows you to create a new work order that is similar to a previously created one. The system performs the following actions when cloning a work order:
-
Creates a new work order with the next available ID and places it in a Requested status.
-
Copies the Reason Code from the original work order and appends a notation that the work order was copied (Copy of WO#3833).
-
Copies the work order details—such as associated asset, procedure, estimated hours, and organizational attributes—over to the new work order.
-
Creates appropriate tasks or estimated costs if a procedure was defined. Similarly, it creates any automatic assignments associated with the defined asset.
The Clone Work Order feature does not copy data that is specific to work performed on the original work order, such as assignments, actual costs, and the labor report.
-
Access the work order to be cloned.
-
Right-click the work order in the Work Order List.
-
Select Clone.
A dialog box opens, asking you to confirm your choice.
-
Click Yes.
Maintenance Connection proceeds to clone the work order and open the newly created work order.
Use the available tabs to update the work order as needed.
