Troubleshooting
If you are having issues using MC Express, please review the expanding sections below.
If something is behaving oddly in MC Express, it is possible that a page did not properly load. For example, an Internet connection loss during page load could keep the full page content from loading. If something appears to be out of place, you can do a quick refresh of system variables by navigating to the Home page.
If a feature on a page is unresponsive, it is also possible that your session has timed out due to lack of activity. MC Express will present a session time out message as soon you attempt to navigate to a new page. Once that message is displayed, you can log back into the system to reset your session.
Refresh system variables:
-
Tap the Menu button in the upper-right corner of the page.
-
Select Home.
The Home page displays and all system variables will be reset.
If problems continue, it is always wise to clear your browser cache. Your device stores pages in your temporary cache in order to present them more expediently. If an MC Express page was updated, the use of the saved version may present issues. In addition, page cache can sometimes become corrupted. Follow the procedures provided by your browser to clear your cache.
On most computer browsers, simultaneously pressing Ctrl-Shift-Delete on your keyboard will open the page to clear or delete your browsing data. On other devices, the method will depend on the device and browser in use.
If you continue to have difficulties, contact Accruent Support for additional guidance.
MC Express has been configured by your System Administrator to give you access to the features and records that are most important to you. Each MC Express user is a member of an Access Group with predefined permissions that optimize the user experience. Additionally, your System Administrator has access to a broad range of System Preferences that control the availability and presentation of features and pages within MC Express. As such, available options will vary by both organization and user.
Contact your System Administrator for more information.
On a few MC Express pages, we place automatic focus on a field to make scanning an ID easier. When automatic focus is placed on a field, your device may hide / float header and footer bars in preparation for the pop-up keyboard. To return the header and footer bar to their fixed positions, tap any white space on the page. The focus on the field will be removed and the header and footer bars display.

MC Express navigation is managed within the application and does not use the browser Back button. Tapping the browser's Back button will result in you exiting the MC Express application, or returning to the Company Selection page if you have access to multiple companies.
To navigate to previous pages in MC Express, be sure to use the Back button that is accessible from the blue header bar. This option is available from all pages except the Home page.
Online help is opened in its own browser window outside the MC Express navigation framework. Within MC Express Help, the Browser Back button is used to navigate to previous pages.
In places where scanning is often used, MC Express endeavors to put focus on the entry field automatically. Automatic focus is in effect in Global Search and the Part Utilities where scanning is often used.
The majority of MC Express data entry pages do not have an automatic focus. This gives you the flexibility to determine the next step to take, rather than forcing you into a particular mode. This is particularly important when using smart phones, as automatic focus may trigger the device to hide header and footer bars to provide room for the pop-up keyboard. With the header and footer bar hidden, you are limited in your ability to scroll, locate records, or access the Save and Cancel buttons.
Fields which are the current focus are shown in blue, indicating they are ready for data entry or scanning. To bring a field into focus, tap the field. Once a field is in focus, your keyboard will pop up, allowing you to type in a value.
Contact your System Administrator if you have forgotten your Member ID or password. Your System Administrator has a feature available to reset your password in the full Maintenance Connection application (MRO).
Organizations that use Maintenance Connection have a set number of concurrent licenses for their use. If all licenses have been used, you will receive a message upon login indicating that there is not a license available for you.
Often this occurs because users have left sessions open without logging off, even though they are not using the system. Depending on your configuration, these users are timed out after a specified period of time.
Contact your System Administrator for assistance if you are unable to log into MC Express due to an unavailable license. System Administrators can use the Session Manager to terminate user sessions that are dormant.
System Administrators with permission can access the Session Management with the following URLs:
Organizations that use Maintenance Connection have a set number of concurrent licenses for their use. To ensure that available licenses remain available, sessions with no activity are timed out. This ensures that users that are not actively using the system do not prohibit other users from logging in.
The amount of time that a session can remain inactive before being timed out is set by your System Administrator.
If your session is timed out, upon requesting a page or interaction from the server, you are redirected to a message indicating that you have been timed out.
To return to MC Express, tap the Return to Login Page link. The login page displays and you can log back into the system.
