Maintenance Connection Announces Release of Version 1.9
Davis, CA April 4, 2005 - Maintenance Connection, Inc., a
Northern California developer of web-based maintenance
management software, today announced the release of Version 1.9
of their flagship web-based CMMS product. All customers
hosting the software in the Maintenance Connection data center
have been automatically upgraded. The following release
notes outline some of the notable feature enhancements:
My
Dashboard This release of My Dashboard is the preview for a feature
which will be expanded in future versions. My Dashboard
provides a quick snapshot to key performance indicators (KPI)
metrics from data being tracked on a daily basis within the
system. This tool provides a visual dashboard to compare
KPIs across multiple sites such as MTBF, MTTR, response
time, PM compliance, and % overtime hours.
My Matrix The new My Matrix button on the home page allows users to
quickly view and access work orders on a grid by a variety
of factors. These include number of open work orders by
labor assigned, category, problem code, procedure,
requester, priority, type and many more. The system offers
quick access to the work orders in full or list view as well
as to simply filter the explorer to view the desired list of
work orders. The My Matrix view will automatically refresh
every 10 minutes.
Zones /
Zones Manager The Zones Manager is a new concept within version 1.9 which
allows an administrator to designate various groups of
assets/locations as zones. This will provide functionality
to group various locations and view the associated work on a
calendar. The Zones Manager will allow you to configure a
color for the zone so the work order list and calendar views
will visually identify these zones accordingly. This
function may be used in situations where location groups are
used to group work orders and labor assignments. This will
make the navigation and assignment of work orders much
easier for a maintenance planner.
Priority
Rules Set up rules to automatically adjust the target date to a
certain interval based upon the priority and date requested.
Each priority can have an interval in which the target date
is set to on a work order. There is also a new system
preference which determines whether these rules are
accounted for on PM work orders.
Asset Meter
Roll-Downs You will find a new checkbox on the asset meter tab which
allows a meter value to be rolled down the asset tree. This
will be primarily used in a situation where meter values
should be synchronized for sub-assets within the tree. For
example, if a vehicle is listed in the tree and the motor is
a separate sub-asset to the vehicle the asset meter
roll-down will synchronize the vehicles mileage to the
motors mileage meter when updated.
Work Order
and Asset Images You can now attach JPG images to a work order and more than
one image to an asset record. By attaching images to the
work order, you can now graphically represent work that
needs to be done by capturing photos of the problem with a
digital camera or camera phone. These work order images and
fixed asset images will also be accessible in the
docs/images tab of the asset record.
Redesigned
Menus and Screen Layouts Many of the menus and screens within this version have been
updated and reorganized to become more efficient. The main
menu and tools/actions menus have been updated with new
icons. The XP-style tab interface has been applied
throughout many of the modules within the system.
New Work
Order Preferences Additional preferences have been added to control and
customize the work order complete/close dialog. These
preferences can be set specific to a repair center or an
individual user. Virtually every checkbox and option on the
work order complete/close dialog can now be defaulted to
checked or not. For example, a preference can be set to
automatically check the Set all tasks completed checkbox
on this dialog. Also, default the Complete, Finalized or
Closed options as selected to avoid having to manually check
these options. These enhancements are designed to streamline
the usage of Maintenance Connection on a day-to-day basis.
Enhanced
Labor Calendars Find additional views within the labor calendars such as
assignments by customer, department, zone, supervisor,
project, and category. All labor assignments can now be
viewed on a calendar in addition to the target date view,
which existed prior. The calendar will also display the
first part of the work order reason directly on the calendar
instead of having to mouse over the box.
Expanded
Asset Search Capabilities The asset search function will now display the search
results in a hierarchical format versus the previous list
format. This format also allows the user to see the tree
relationship and drill up and down within the tree
structure.
Tab Level
Security Administrators now have the ability to set access rights
down to specific tabs within each module. Also, work order
labor costs can be hidden for specific users by disabling
access to the rates tab of the labor and craft modules.
Category
Module There is now the ability to create separate sets of
categories in the category module for each module. Now you
can have Work Order categories that are different than
Inventory categories etc.
Document
Editor There is a new document editor which is more powerful for
dealing with Library Documents. You now have the ability to
easily convert Word Documents into Maintenance Connection
Library documents and then attach these to Work Orders and
Purchase Orders.
